Wasting around just talking to myself Waiting for something to show me the light Thinking that maybe this cannot end well Let's cut a deal and call it a night Never really bought the bullshit You don't do ya Holy Roman, holy roller hallelujah I'll put a price on the power of persuasion Seems that the cost is off the meter All circumstances match the occasion Wanting for me, I play the leader But I had never understood Just how to use my place for good I'll make this promise, knock on wood Now, can we shake on it Bite your tongue or bite the bullet They would screw ya Holy Roman, holy roller, hallelujah HALLELUJAH! Never really bought the bullshit You don't do ya Holy Roman, holy roller, hallelujah Bite your tongue or bite the bullet They would screw ya Holy Roman, holy roller, hallelujah

I come bearing the good news Could you lend me an ear I once heard where the angels appear So let me take you there Doubters follow my lead Be prepared, just the strongest succeed I know you, the broken-down spirit I was once not far from where you're at (We're wasting time) trying not to let go (We're wasting time) sitting idly by That's life (that's life!), did I hear an echo? These words passed down from on high Brothers, sisters, I declare Pick yourself off the floor I'm aware we were meant for much more So let me raise you up Feel the heaven's caress Righteous love, can I get a witness? Come along, let's start at rock bottom Let me guide your way out of Sodom As I see this mass of faces I must say I'm quite surprised I'll see you in better places Cross my heart and hope to die
3.
Bless this bright, early Sunday (Father God, Father God) Seems your goodwill was smiling upon us We shall be with you one day (Father God, Father God) After all, that is just what you promised Let's fold our hands and bow our heads Repeat after men, "Hey man, Amen!" We bow down at the altar (Father God, Father God) We bow down and we beg for our last judgment And we swear not to falter (Father God, Father God) Or take your name in vain like it was nothing Kinda like the spell was under me I bring in the masses unto thee But just what lies within their seeds I'm just the one who misleads PREACH Bless these bright, shining people (Father God, Father God) Even more come to gather for my graces That's the church, here's the steeple (Father God, Father God) See the parish of dull, enchanted faces Let's fold our hands and bow our heads Repeat after me, "Hey man, Amen!" So as it stands, let's break the break And drink the blood, hey men, amen!

Here stand, gathering day by day There I go, sending you on your way (send me on my way) Nothing short of the devil's spawn Humble beginnings are so far gone All my disciples can call me sire There I go preaching to the choir (preaching to the choir) We'll all face our reckoning Mesmerized by what the angels sing So we're surround by the houses of the holy rising Caught up in the same routine of same old, same old And so we wait upon our day of judgment soon arriving A day we're eager to behold Shall I deliver the word unto There I go, telling you something true (tell me something true) I know that the end is nigh But I swear we'll be as one on high Why are you begging me not to stay There you go, sending me on my way (send you on your way) Drown my sermons in your applause Keeping me humble is a lost cause Great jubilation, we praise divination Let's take back what's ours And we'll head 'cross the nation Bearing temptation, we waste our creation We need some relief from This gross degradation

When I finally fall apart lay me down by the side of the road Until then I'll fall apart easing up on your heavy load I had broken all the vows to which I'd been bestowed I think this could be the start of the warnings to which you forbode I see you're unsatisfied Won't you give me one more go I can't quit while I'm ahead I cry, "On with the show!" It's an offer I can't refuse, all you give's got me selling my soul Got me singin' them holy blues but my heart is blacker than coal I don't think our deal allows for you to take control Leaves a certain kind of bruise, the damage takes its toll Oh glory, glory, I am reborn Unto this world, thy word is scorn When my judgment day has come, lay me down by the side of the road Gasping in some holy tongue, like the words had been written in code

Keep Amblin' 04:36
I come to you a new man With my inhibitions bared And you took me as I am So I strayed from his plan 'Cause my luck was running scared And it all felt like a scam But as the old fables go There would come a great rebirth That would happen but by chance I met a man full of woe With desire to leave this Earth Still he spoke of romance And he said to me... Give me the strength to keep amblin' Bring forth the spirits I'm channeling Seems on and on, I've been rambling Oh, but no one hears me cry Back in my days as a brute I had heard the one profound Shout at the top of his lungs In walked a man destitute And he sang the holy sound Came to me speaking in tongues And he said to me... Just remember surrender's for cowards So rely on the kindness of friends But if only he had the power Then maybe this could end
7.
Gather round, my sons and daughters Someone's spoiled the holy water If this tithing is all you offer Keep it close, 'cause why even bother bothering? I know your kind, the cold and cowardly Make up your mind, give us a sign Child, come let me save your soul Bow down to my rock and roll Come, now take me by the hand Hear me say I understand

about

Companion EP to "Set Up to Fail" from Information Highway 61.

A man sells his soul for the power of persuasion and decides to capitalize on televangelism. With each sermon, his popularity grows, and decides to take his preaching on the road with a revival tour. The night before the first date of the tour, the devil returns and is appalled at the man's abuse of power. During the first revival, the couple shows up and guns down the preacher.
